I played hooky from work yesterday and burned up a lot of gas trying to find the fish. I wanted to get on the lake before the power boats did. Well, 5 hours later and two sandies I gave up. I fished the 121 cut, twin poles, deadman point, dam, little elm creek and open water.
Maybe the fishing almanac is right, not a good day to fish.

Went out around 7:30am Friday and stayed until about 10. Early there was a little topwater around twin trees, mostly small and moving fast.

Later the sandies schooled up on the deeper humps between twin trees and the dam. 26+ feet, and on the slopes. Mostly medium sized, they were still bitting when I left.

It was mostly cloudy, with wind at 10-15 mph. Seemed to like chartruse slabs best.

I was there from 7:30 to 1:30. Was that you by the dam fishing? I would like to know where the flats are.

Sandies friday morning were in open water east and northeast of twin trees. Three people in boat caught well over 100 fish up to 2.5 lbs between 8:45 and 11:00. Mostly on clear Zara Puppy.

Twin trees would be the main point that divides the two arms of the lake. Used to be two trees there, but they are no longer visible.

Dave,

Are the used-to-be twin trees south or north of the two poles?? The reason I ask is that when you speak of the "main point that divides the two arms of the lake" the lake is shaped like a hand. The thumb pointing to Sneaky Pete's, the index finger pointing toward Lake Dallas (old dam), the middle finger pointing NorthEast... etc. We use the 121 Marina and head NE toward the twin poles. Your clarification would be appreciated.

thx,
ohrattler

I believe that twin trees is marked by buoy's just this side of Lake Dallas Dam. Correct me if I'm wrong. The buoy's even say tree on them.

Twin Trees Point is directly north of Lewisville City Park.
