Tried RC for only the second time this year. Got on the lake about 3:30PM, fished until about 7:30. Tried Windsock and the hump area, 309 flats, Pelican, Ferguson, shoreline between Ferguson and Windsock (looking for surfacing fish) in that order. Was on 309 flats around 6:30, and made the round of the rest of the spots afterword. Caught a few small sandies trolling, one on a flyrod, and that was about it. Only saw one small pocket of fish surface for about 10 sec. With all the glowing reports recently, I was expecting a boiling sea of sandbass covering the whole lake (well, I was hoping for it). Don't know what the deal was. Didn't do much good slabbing or trolling, either. Maybe they were splashing in a different part of the lake.

Hey Bismark, sorry things didn't go well for you on sunday. Sounds like you went every place possible!
We also have not had much luck in the evening hours, even though some have said that the fishing has been good.
JKB1314 posted that they had success right at dark after the front came through last thursday on the 309. Our best success has been in the morning all year!
Friday was awesome, but it was overcast til 11 and I wonder if that had something to do with it?
We also had little luck on friday after about 5, and as big as that lake is, they may have been up somewhere else. Also try the dogleg on the richland creek side. It has been productive at times!

I had been fishing the evenings and into the night but Saturday night was a bust. We caught 15 fish- none were surfacing and 10 were 13-15" hybrids. I going back to morning fishing for a while. We witnessed the game warden take a DUI boater to jail- those who indulge, take heed. Save it for camp when you get back to shore.

Fished Friday & Saturday on RC with very good luck on LARGE Whites. While we had some good topwater schooling activity in the AM, we caught almost all our good fish on Slabs off the 309 Flats and the 287 Flats. I try and stay away from the crowds on Saturday, and find the Whites with my Graph on Humps & Dropoffs. They've been stacked up in several areas in the 20'-30' water and are usually cooperative on Chartruse Rainbow Slabs. I've got lots of open weekdays in July. If you're interested in a getaway and some FAST & FUN action, check out the Fishing, Cabin & Lunch Special on my site at www.rc-fishing.com/GoneFishin If you have a question or need a report, don't hesitate to give me a call at 903-389-4117 .
