Has anyone fished Brady Lake, went there a few years ago bass fishing and ran across a good group of whites up the creek and had alot of fun. Thinking about going again just seeing if any one else has any info on this lake. Could care less about the bass, but the whites were a ton of fun.

I too would like to know about fishing on Brady lake as my deer lease is on the west end of the Brady lake dam . I can hear the boats as I guard the the corn in our 4x4 guard shacks and I have often wondered if it was worth towing my boat there.

Lake Brady is about 2,000 acres and is located about 3 miles west of Brady. Completed in 1963 it was originally stocked with LM bass, white crappie, catfish, and sunfish. More recent stockings include Florida strain LM bass, smallmouth bass, and blue catfish. No mention was made of sand (white) bass being stocked.
Fish habitat includes tree stumps, brush, gravel points and rocky shorelines.
There is an enclosed fishing pier and marina and two improved boat ramps. There are numerous commercial camping spaces (east side of the lake) and the entire north end of the lake is open to primitive camping. The city of Brady owns/operates it. A permit may be required.

I fished Brady religiously as a kid during the spring for crappie. We would wade the banks up and down the sloughs and creeks on the west end of the lake for spawning crappie. It is an excellent crappie, bass, and catfish lake. The whites are in there, but they are small. If you want to white bass fish I suggest Ivie, or Brownwood. The crappie fishing has been horrible lately due to the drought, but the lake filled last year and the fishing should be better.
