Talked it over with J.P and the official Marine Radio Channel for the TFF will be channel 25 so if you have a radio in your boat or pocket and want to here what is happing on the water, channel 25 will be the channel to tune in on your VHF Marine Radios. Lets all be safe on the water and catch lots of fish ------------------ Fish On Gota Run !! Greg Bug-A-Bass Striper & Catfish Guide Service http://www.bugabass.com

James, be cautious about the handheld VHF. You might want to talk to Mike Stewart or some who have bought them already. You can get the cheaper console mount radio for about the same money, and they perform so much better. I've seen the handheld units that are pure alligator, and some that couldn't talk half a mile. Channel 25??? Can someone elaborate on why this channel was selected?? Not that I really care, but does anyone know if this particular channel is used as a boat to boat channel in most areas? The only reason I question it.....I remember a year or so back a bunch of sisemograph folks from down in Coon-[censored] country tied up channel 69 on Texoma for shore to shore communications for almost a year. I found it to be very irritating. ------------------ Mike www.WhiskerKitty.com

For all who want to know 25 is a Public Correspondence channel using mode D there for it can be used by all, and at this time it is not being used as much as some of the others. And another thing, by using channel 25 it will ensure that even the older radios can still be use ------------------ Fish On Gota Run !! As far as the handhelds go, I have a Hummingbird handheld model that has worked great so far on lake Whitney and have had it for the past 3 years without a problem. Seems to pick up fine and has a 5 mile range as long as I am not up in one of the creeks behind the bluffs. Bass pro shop 89.00. We usually moniter 22 but I will be sure and check 25 out and say hello when I am on the water.

Well lets see. Fish locaters, gps, 2 way radios, color selector, PH meter, underwater tv cameras, etc. Sorta makes you wonder how we used to catch any fish at all with a small wood or aluminum boat and 5 hp motor. Now don't everybody jump on me, for I have most all of the above mention tools also. I think my next purchase may have to be a 10 ft jonboat to use as a trailer to haul some of this stuff in.

Think Safety On one says we must use all the things that are out there for us to use, but some of the things out there are for our safety and not just for catching fish underwater tv cameras can be fun, but I just don't think a fish will bite on one if they did I would have two. ------------------ Fish On Gota Run !!
