You are correct i found that out today. It feeds Lake Arlington when its flowing.

Just caught my first three crappie from the creek over the last two months. Since I was also catching sunnies they got posted in the Sunfish section.

Oh and I was wrong about the construction, it is right of ways for nearby rigs.

What part of the creek were you catching crappies in? What's it near?

If you search posts begun by me you can find pics of the spot on a post in the sunfish section. It's not a hard to find spot but you gotta do some exploring! Can't give it all away or it takes the fun out of it! The pics should be enough to confirm it's the right place when you do find it.

On another note, I only CPR the fish from there (caveat in the next paragraph). Not sure of any contaminants but there is at least one visible pipe that discharges into the creek. I think it's just drainage from around the nearby area but why take the chance? Plus it doesn't seem like there is enough replenishment that everyone starting to take fish wouldn't hurt the population.

The only time I harvest anything from there is when I take a few of the smaller bream for some cut bait on catfish trips. There are a ton of the little sunnies throughout the creek and if they don't get harvested/preyed upon it'll stunt all of them.

leave my poor crappie alone!! lol.. i have been known to not want to clean my fish and a few have been jumping out of the livewell into the pond..

So you're saying we need to sink some brush piles around the shore for spring?

I think some structure would definatly help the lake. Doesn't seem like there is any in there

From what I saw when they were making it they just dug a big pit, let it fill, and stocked it. If there is anything it's in the very center cause I've seen it really low and there is nothing around the shore.

Talk to the city and see if they will let us brush it

Brushpiles would be great for the lake! The city should stock that sucker and load it with laydowns and piles. Maybe even some Lilly pads for the Bass! We pay enough in taxes.. We could atleast have 1 good place to fish. Especially for the kids.
