when i was at crystal beach, i noticed some people around me catching sharks. This may sound like a really stupid idea but, im interested in wade fishing for sharks. I have never fished for sharks and i would love the feeling of catching a shark while wade fishing. I was just going to fish smaller fish, slice it up, put a huge hook on the sliced up fish and throw it out there and wait. is there a forum on here that talks strictly about what kind of equipment you might need or do you guys have any advice?

Have you stopped to read what you posted? Hello, Mc Fly, you could just cut your hand and place it in the water. lol. Good luck! Hey, when you do go, let us know when. I'll be the guy sitting in the back of my truck with a cold beer and a camera, lol.

Well my honest advice is to NOT wade fish for shark. I think your more safer fishing for shark from the shoreline or a boat. How you get your bait out i believe some guys kayak there baits out or just wade out some distance and cast then get back onto shore and just wait or you can swim your bait out. I dont think id wunna be in the water with an angry shark at the end of my line. Theres alot of guys who fish alot for shark so im sure thy can give you better advice/tips. Gd Luck.

Lots of small shark out there. I catch bull mullet and cut the tails off for bait. Just use the same rods as yu do for trout just use a steel leader. For bigger sharks you need to get your baits out with a kayak or wave runner. Then you will need big reels with alot of line. The bigger the sharks the longer leaders you will need. Its because the turn when fighting and they will cut your line.
