Hey all, I'm gonna be in Mineral Wells (just West of Weatherford) for work this next week, June 7-11, and I'm gonna go crazy if I can't find a place to do some fishing. I really like the small ponds for bank and kayak fishing so if anybody knows of anything or is free in the evenings to do some fishing, let me know. Thanks!

Lake Mineral Wells is a good place to do some fishing! They catch tons of large crappie, bass, and catfish out of that small lake. I dont know much about Lake Weatherford but Im sure there are some posts in the forum on it. Dont even bother going out to PK. Even though there are still fish in the lake, its pretty tough fishing.

Good deal. Thank a lot DDR. I was looking at Lake Mineral Wells on-line some and I'm definitely gonna try it out. I heard it was a pretty nice place to put a kayak in at so I'm gonna take mine w/ me.

You could also kayak the brazos river too. The fishing isnt great but you can still catch some, most people just kayak the river for the scenery. There is a place called Rochelle's its near the town of Palo Pinto, you might be able to google it and find out more about it.

I'm actually going to be working quite a bit on the Brazos but I don't think I'll have enough time to make it back to the hotel then over to the river to do anything substantial before dark so I'm probably going to have to save that one for another time.
