Hey Guys and Gals, lets remember to stay hydrated and that doesn't mean after you notice your about to loose it. Start the night before.

Also, the fish will feel the effects also, so lets try to keep them safe.

See most of you at the Skeeter Tournament this weekend.

What Steps do you take to Keep Cool and Hydrated?

hahaha. replace those prohibited beverages with gatorade and water of course wink

i like to wear white to keep cool, and get a good bottle of spray on sunscreen, makes it easier to put on then the rub on stuff, and the fishes dont smell it when your hands touch your bait smile Im about to invest in a sombrero. seriously...

Often times bags of ice can harm fish cause of the chlorine ect in the ice. Its better to freeze bottles of water, even a 2 liter and put it in the live well. The water stays cool and the water in the bottle stays in the bottle, it doesn't melt as fast as ice in a bag. You can also drink it once it does melt.

Keeping the fish in cooler water is very important along with an additive, they will die if you dont take steps to care for them

Everything you said is good, but DON'T drink the water after its been in the livewell. Can't remember what pro it was, but i think he fished FLW...anyways he contracted some parasites or something of that nature from drinking a bottle of water that he had in his livewell.

It's best to start hydrating a couple days before you get out in the heat.

I wear full sleeve fishing shirts, fishing pants and a floppy fishing hat that covers my neck. I'll hydrate heavily the day before and drink plenty the day on the lake. If I feel the heat I'll dunk the hat and shirt and chill out with a cold water. If in a tournament I put my livewell on circulate with Sure Life Catch and Release and run my bubbler full time. Keep your measuring board out of the sun and keep the fish off the hot carpet. Lots of simple things you can do. If you start to feel bad then take a break and cool down.

I just catch fish throw them in my livewell and keep on fishing. I don't use any chemicals or ice and I never loose any fish.

Fish care in livewell is over rated in my opinions, and many of the stuff they sell to keep fish alive is snake oil.

I use a bandana on my head under my hat that hangs out and covers my neck and the sides of my face. I keep it wet and it acts live a little air conditioner. For me long pants actually keeps me cooler than shorts.I get them wet too. Some ice cold dill pickles wil keep the crud out of your mouth.
