I've been going above the gun range this year since early March .I got so sick of looking at all the trash people leave behind I went there today and picked up trash and cans 2 big bags full and $1.85 in cans.I wish I had one more bag.

That [censored] makes me sick. I wonder why the state doesn't make people doing community service clean up the lakes and rivers, instead of just the roads? Of course, it wouldn't matter if people were just a little more responsible.

Yeah...that is the only place I fish during the spawn, and the amount of trash is incredible. Sat there and watched a family just throw their cans and stuff on the ground...unbelievable. That, and the people throwing casting nets in after the sandies. That really gets my fire a'boiling. ------------------ Gig 'Em, Aggie class of '94.

i think we all feel the same... but the only solution is to send the game warden thru there a couple of times a day. heck, the revenue he generates will be worth his time.
different topic... have the females come and gone? i caught a ton of males out of there, but it was a while back. i caught nothing over 13 inches. do i even need to bother?

Is this gun range at Richland-Chambers? If so, directions and info, please. I live in Corsicana and fish RC a lot. ------------------

I went to my favorite spot the other week for some kittykat's and we found 7 used diapers all loaded with deuces in them. Needless to say it was disgusting and even if I had a trash bag I dont know if I would have cleaned it up. Call your local Boy Scout Troops and I am sure they might organize cleanups for their Comunity Service Calendars.

I'm not sure quite what is up with the spawn on RC. If memory serves me right, when we start catching the males, the run is on the decline. I caught a lot of females several weeks ago...for several days...and the last several trips have resulted in the 9" and 10" males. It is my understanding from that that the run is ending. ------------------ Gig 'Em, Aggie class of '94.

Hey Duck I found 3 torn up cast-nets haha!
I called game warden a couple times last year with people using cast nets it always took them forever to get there and then go the opposite way I told them to go.
The boys scouts is a good ideal.

I always thought the males moved up 1st and ladies followed em. Not sure where I gleaned that wisdom from but that's what I've always thought.? Anyway I hope it's true and big ones on the way soon!
Was fishing 2nd hole above gun club Sun. with the fly-fishing gent and as soon as the netters moved into rapids above us, the bottles (at least 10!) began filling the hole. I never saw them throw one in so wasn.t sure who to go after. Called game warden and they hadn't showed up an hour later when I left. Hate these Low-Lifes!
We also had to get pretty firm with some guys about why were releasing fish instead of acting like their personal freaking grocers.

I have called the TPWD every time I have gone down there, and they have done nothing. Most of the time, a lady answers and says that she is the only one there, and puts me on hold for a long time...then comes back and says she will page a GW, but no one ever shows up... I have never seen a GW down there, in the 6 years I have fished that area. The state could solve it's budget problem in a week with all the citations down there. - People keeping fish under 10" - People over their limit of 25 fish - Casting nets - No license...you name it. ------------------ Gig 'Em, Aggie class of '94. Just got back from fishing below the gun range. Sad to report, but much of the same. I was there from noon-3:30 and only caught 3 small males. Several other folks there, nobody was catching keepers and very few throw backs. -Creedmore, '93 [This message has been edited by Creedmore (edited 03-27-2003).]

Hey Duck, was that you about 2 weeks ago with waders in the creek, when we saw this old guy with the cast net and you were trying to tell him its illegal? I was fly-fishing then. -Christian ------------------ A good rule to live by is to "Never Let Work Interfere with Fishing!" -Christian

Ccabal, Sorry, was not me...don't wear waders. If you see a guy that looks like Tom Green down there fishing...then you have found me. ------------------ Gig 'Em, Aggie class of '94.
