 Daughter's First Fish!!

I had the day off work and thought that I would try to get out to EML before the weather hit today. The daughter decided she wanted to go as well so she called in sick to school, and we went fishing. She caught her 1st fish ever this morning.  I had looked back to check on her and her pole was bent over, I asked her if she was hung up as she had been a few times that morning. She said yes she thought she was, so I was turning the boat around to try to get her unhung and she finally realized she had a fish on. She didn't want to hold it because she thought it felt weird. Yes, she is hooked. She just asked me if we were going to go to the lake tonight...
Still have the boat hooked up, might drive out there and see what the wind looks like and try to fish around the harbor.

Hey guys,
Need a little help, since I am new to Texas fishing as well.
What kind of fish is this?
Whitebass? I could be wrong. Congrats on her first.
Catch and Release fishing is a lot like golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time.

Congrats on her 1st fish...I also think it is a white bass. I remember getting to skip school in the spring to go fishing! Life long memories...

Congrats on her 1st fish...I also think it is a white bass. I remember getting to skip school in the spring to go fishing! Life long memories... I did that like last week, went to fairfield for the TFF Bream Bustin' Fish Fry. It's almost summer time and I'll be fishin' EVERY DAY!
