Always see posts on Lavon, Lewisville, Ray Hubbard, Cedar Creek- is anyone fishing Whitney? doing any good? Whitney is the closest real lake to me (Benbrook and Alvarado don't count) and would like to find me some areas to fish Whitney- I'm bank fishing- ya I know Green Algea might be in there but it can't kill all the fish! any hints, help?

Try Richland chambers.. I live in Burleson also.. its about 1 1/4 hours from the water. The catfish are doing well there...and there is no golden alage problem.

Just south of Koperel turn left at Lakeside Village and go down the hill to the boat ramp-launch there and move south into the wooded area which will be anywhere from 2 to 9 feet deep based on the lake level now...bait several holes with chum or range cubes near the trees-put a short piece of cord on the tree so you can tie up when you come back to it-fish with punch bait and a cork with the bait maybe a foot off bottom. We have done quite well there during the warm months...mostly channels but every now and then maybe a good blue. It is no more than a mile south of the boat ramp east of the main Brazos channel..

Know how you feel Dontcatchmuch, live five minutes from Benbrook and hate going there. Love to bank fish for catfish. been hitting Lavon on the east side and it takes only 1hr 20mins to get there. We used to go to tawakoni but its a 2hr drive almost. i live in crowley. Went yesterday and caught a 12lb catfish. i know how you feel, if only there was a better place in fort worth.

Whitney is a very tough lake to fish from the bank IMO.
I believe it is one of the hardest in the state. You might have better luck going behind the dam and fishing the river. I have heard rumors of people catching nice fish when they wade down a quarter mile or so.

Good luck

Fish Hauler- me and buddy went down to Limestone to areas u told us- Monday 10 days ago - not too good day- fished 3 spots( #2,#3 and some campground/marina near powerlines)caught 17 total between 2 of us- most dinks brought home 3 channel 14'-16' and one 18' blue. some old timers from Waco were camping at #2 and had a couple jon boats and 4 of them went out 4 hrs and only got 16- they said it was really unusual- that they usually limit out and they go every other week for 2-3 days.

End of day we were back at #3 and cpl guys came in from checking trotlines and told us same thing- just a odd day. they said end of may/first of june they usually bank fish #3 for flatheads- so me and buddy are gonna try again towards end of month.
it's just lakes 2 or more hrs away is a trip- gotta have whole day and I like to have someone go with me. alotta times I go by myself and only have 4-6 hrs to kill so I been trying Brazos north of Whitney cuz it's 30 minutes from house- always catch a few but mostly dinks with 1-3 keepers usually.
My milo brew is getting close to ready so maybe it'll help?

RDZ- I'm in Burleson, u in Crowley- both bank fish- we should hookup sometime

The main thing that folks are having a hard time with on Limestone is the fish are WAY back in the stumps for the most part.
When I have been going there I have been bumping and jumping stumps for 20-30 minutes to get to where the fish are holding. Most folks do not want to put their boats thru that kind of hell.

I always do good at alvarado from the bank, but not the public side. I have a couple buddies that live on the lake. Believe it or not there are some very nice cats in that lake. You might also try cleburne lake, this older guy named Willie lives next door to my mom pulls out multiple 30+ pound fish out of there every year from the bank.
