 Which is better, a bass boat or center console?

Since I can't catch them too well from the bank, I started looking for a boat and I don't know which boat is better for fishing catfish and reds. Any advice? Also on used boats what should I be looking for to make sure I am not getting ripped off?

As I fish from the bank I see alot of guys fishing with bays boats and they look to have alot of room in them. Goodluck If you find something I would love to go out with you. I don't have the funds to buy a boat but dream one day I will.

After owning both I would say nothing beats the CC. More room and handles choppy water. If you're gonna look at used boats, always take a test ride. I would also take it to my local boat shop and have them do a once over on it but that's just me.

I have a 1996 ranger bass boat and were going to trade it for a CC much more room wider just better in my eyes.

I have owned two bass boats and in 07 bought my first CC. A Blue Wave 2200 v bay. I can't imagine owning another bass boat. Always test drive a used boat and have it inspected by a reputable mechanic. I stress reputable mechanic. Learned that one the hard way.

I had two bass boats and switched over to a CC I will never go back to a bass boat. Great for fishing, and better yet great if you have a family, plenty of room for the kids, and fishing buddies. Take a test ride and when serious have a boat dealer check it out from head to toe. Then buy it and get off the bank.

No doubt a center console is best! IMO Plenty of room and dont have to wear a "bass fishing helmet" to get across the lake

center console is better overall handles rough water better smoother ride and a ton more room as well as if your drifting you wont be worrying about the waves coming over the bow or the transom due to your boat sitting too low in the water most bass boats imho sit too low in the water to realistictly fish for cats in sub par weather

CC all the way. I have a 17ft CC and i have taken it everywhere. It's a do all boat. I have fished Lake Fork in deep rough water for the cats and next day i'll be running the trolling motor through 1.5ft of water in a cove catching green trash fish on a buzzbait
