Put in about 6:30 this am, water temp. 78. I decided not to waste time looking for surface activity, and caught a few perch. I didn't see a single bird between the dam and Comal Island. I dropped anchor on the hump in front of the dam, and put a couple of lines down, nothing doing. Then I went over to the Jacobs Creek Park area, "set up" in 42 ft., and put two lines down, between 20 and 30 ft. I caught one about 9:30 that looks like it should go 6 lbs. I had a couple of perch jerked off the hook (my "hookup" ratio is not real good) but that was it. About 10:30, I noticed several boats clustered off Canyon Park, so I assume someone caught one over there. I split around 11:00 because of the crowd. Dang, those anchors can wear you out.

Fished around Jacobs creek last week end,the bite was fair, but very early.I had managed to catch four shad on the boat ramp using a cast net. Those four shad caught four keepers within thirty minutes of fishing.Could not get the bigger ones to bite on hardware look- a-likes,tryed about every thing too.The traffic making the bend there is terrible after about 9:00 A.M. on week-ends and disrespectful. Good Day ; ><{{*>
