I would like to thank the guy in the Ranger that was being towed by a Gold Tahoe.
I was prefishing Fork Friday by myself. I put in at the Public Ramp 154 and the wind shifted to from the North. This ramp is tough when the wind is out of the North. Waves are rocking and I am trying to decide what I can do to keep from tearing my Skeeter apart. Then a guy and his wife pull up to the ramp just by chance. He walks down to the dock and asks if he can back my truck in for me, My Lucky Day. Because he decides it is to rough to put in there. Any other moment and it would have been lost. A big THANKS to you my friend. He was staying at Lake Fork Marina. Hope you got your lines tightened by some Bass.

I hope you don't mind, but because the post title is somewhat general, I thought I share a story of a person who was very helpful to me.
I was fishing Choke Canyon last year on a very windy day. Because of the direction of the wind I decided to put in at the 99 bridge ramp. After fishing for about an hour I realized I had forgotten something in my truck. I went back to the ramp and there was a lot of traffic at this point, but I notice several people beached on the right hand side of the ramp. At the time I didn't take notice that they were all special types of shallow water boats. Well I decide to beach my Ranger Bass boat beside them. Not a wise idea. I hit a few rocks while beaching and in fact get the boat stuck and can't get it out of the mud. A very helpful guy sees that I'm having trouble and idles over and tosses me a rope and spends a good 15 minutes trying to pull me out. We weren't successful, but I'd like to say thanks to this unknown gentleman for trying to help. I did finally get the bost out and all is well now...after some repairs. But again, thanks for helping.

Always refreshing to hear of people helping people. Seems to be less and less common these days. Pay it forward!

last march on amistad was fishing a tourney and huge wind came in - really made it bad to try to load at box - everyone stayed out and helped fisherman after fisherman to load up. That is one of my biggest reasons for loving this sport/activity - most of the folks I've meet fishing are awsome folks - it's agrivating to have to miss out on some fishing but nearly always have stopped or have had people stop to help.

Fishing joe pool friday after work saw a boat on the dam riprap on one side and another on the other side im about 300 yards away i hear a loud pop look back and they are up shollow on the rocks tryin to free a snag (so i thought) about 10 minutes later my buddy says there bailing water out! I troll over to them to find out that they are sinking FAST! So ive never been in this situation nor has he but ive always heard to pull the plig and try to take off.after yanking them off the rocks with a rope they were able to get it somewhat on pad and i followed them in meanwhile the other boat just sat there and laughed thankfully they made it to the ramp it was a first for me just aother day on the great lake joe pool lmao

I dont have an "emergency" type story, but I remember the first time I ever fished the Brazos me, my dad, and shane were all coming back in and happend to run into another kayaker who was heading out that apparently was on this forum. After talking for a bit he tells us he has a cooler with a couple beers in it in the back of his truck and to help ourselves to one. We took him up on that offer.
Gotta love the hospitality in our great state, especially when it comes to anglers. I was living in San Diego at the time and had commented to my dad that something like that would have never happend in California.
