I was told by a friend that the Army Corp. Of Engineer has opened two flood gates Friday at Lavon. His friend called him about 8:30 Sat. am to tell him that he had caught 20 good sized sandies in about 45 min. and that he should go to the 78 bridge. He was unable to go. His friend later stopped by to give him some fish and to show his catches. They are apparently stacked up in there.
Does anyone have first hand report?

I was there yesterday afternoon till dark...I got there late..but I saw a bunch of heavy stringers

Well, I skipped out of work at lunchtime yesterday and headed to the Hwy. 78 bridge. Saw about 25 sand bass caught, all but a few were small, although some ignorant fishermen were keeping them. Place really got crowded about 4pm. As of 8am this morning the 2 gates are still open about 1/2', but the lake is back at normal level so the gates will probably be closed sometime today. While I only caught one nice sized keeper (which I gave away) it was still better than working, since the weather was beautiful!

Texdan...I was there yesterday and watched 2 guys catching crappie so fast on the west side of the little spillway it gave me heartburn...Also by dark they were catching alot of crappie on the east side under corks pretty good too..

I was there at Daylite this morning and caught 15 really nice Crappie

Well, I think I saw the 2 guys you're talking about if it was about 3pm, fishing near a little tree in the water. They've now closed the dam so guess that's it for fishing until we get some rain. What time were you there yesterday, I might have seen you. I was there from 11:30-4pm.

I got there about 2:30 and walked across the bridge..and fished to the left of those guys if you were on the east side of the creek..I always wear a red cap..Always

Even when you're sleeping? I was on the East side of the river with the wader's on fishing in the river. Sure got crowded there about 4pm. So have you ever had any luck fishing down-river from the spillway?

Even in my sleep...(my dreams) but it did get crowded after 4..I've caught alot of fish in that creek..
