Anyone fished Palestine lately? I would like to go after work one day this but haven't been in a while and normally don't fish it this time of year. Looking for hybrids. Does MO know?

I dont know.
I have been very negligent in my
fishing endeavors lately. In the past, when we
have had good fall seasons on Palestine,
it was closer to Thanksgiving when the
big fish showed up. I have not had a good
fall season under the birds for the past
two years. What big fish I have caught the past two falls have come while slabbin' for sandies.
I did catch some nice fish a few weeks
ago near(but not on top of) the roadbed
at 155. They would not stay in one place
long enough for me to really hammer them.
I have seen some sandbass surfacing,
but they did not stay up long.
This is the time of year you should be
able to catch all the sandies you want on a slab. Any number of points and humps should
be holding fish.
good luck

went to palestine sun morn 1am till daybreak. worked the lighted boathouses starting at brookshires camp ground all the way to 155 bridge. still , didnot catch any over 4lbs ,but did make up in numbers. not a terrific bite but enought to keep me interested.i guess all told i caught about30 hybrids in5 hrs. lots of fun on light tackle. I wanted to stay longer but just around daybreak about 30 or more bass boats were coming down the lake with some going 60 -70 mph I know they could not stop in time in the foggy conditions so i hauled *** closer to shore from where i was at the time. sure enought several came right over the spot i had just left . amazing they dont kill someone. anyhow the big hybrids should be showing very soon gres

I fished on and around the roadbed for a while yesterday. Caught a bunch of sandies and small hybrids on jiggin spoon. Did not
hook any big fish, so went back to crappie
fishing. I did see a few gulls sitting
on the water, and lots of shad in the
timber. We still need a couple of cold
fronts to get the big fish active.
good luck
