I am looking to catch some whites in the morning on Richland Chambers. What is the best time, lure and place to launch from Dallas.

Release @ Oak Cove Marina head south to the Dam. About 300 yards or so north/west of the dam. Should be plenty of schooling fish. If not. Head to the other side of the dam. If not. Head north to Pelican Island. We have had good luck on small rattle traps and chartruse slabs. Let us know how it turned out. 7:00-9:30am

Troll the hell/pet rig in the deeper water next to the humps out front of the first cove from the dam on the north side. This is the cove that has the free ramp at the end of FM309. There are a couple of orange jugs out there. We like to start on the lake side of the jugs and troll our way behind (west side) the hump that comes almost out of the water. You'll know it when you see it. Lots of sandies and a few big hybrids.

You might also try the west shore just south of the 287 bridge all the way to Pelican Isle. Up in the middle of the day, the sandies sometimes surface just north of Ferguson Point and south of there into Lakeview Bay. If you find them surfacing, try a CP Special and/or a silver glitter Tailhummer. Also you might try a silver or white Rooster Tail.

Caught about 8 sandies to small to keep on Richland Chambers. The wind was 17-20 mph and that made the fishing rough. My 9 year old daughter sunked her dad with and nice 15 inch largemouth trolling using a yellow jig. She made her Dad proud.

Oops! I meant the east shore south of the bridge.
