Someone has to know what it is doing. I know that everyone wants this lake to get full. Rain all over the recharge zone for the lake and should fill up quick. It was 9 ft low to start. Someone give a update.

A buddy of mine said it was up 5 feet and is only 3 1/2 feet low now. He also said it's coming up pretty quick. He fished until about 6:30 this evening.

I'll be fishing Friday too. Should be interesting. I would imagine the water will still be pretty dirty anywhere close to a major tributary.

I am going to call my Army Corp. of Eng. buddy and ask if they will keep the water in the lake this time or let it run down stream??

Is anyone else just smiling ear to ear on this happening right now at this time of year right after most of those fish spawned??? Think about this for just a second. Those bass have almost finished spawning. Now the lake goes up 5+ feet. ok ok ok what does little baby bass eat? Plankton! What happens when water rises over grasses and shoreline structure?...Plankton blooms like crazy. This is going to give all those little guys and girls a TON of food and a TON of cover so they can grow like bad weeds!!!!

This couldn't have happen at the more right time at Choke. We are going to reap the benefits of this for years to come. Remember this happened a few years ago and look what we are catching right now??? This is AWESOME!!!

ok ok ok BUT what is the pattern going to be like??? mmmmm Where are these fish going to be??? Now some poor smuck has to go down there and find the NEW fishing spots....oh well I might as well get-r-dun!!! HINT:They are going to go shallow following those baby bass...Cranks in baby bass color!!!!

Land was created to provide a place for boats to visit!! It is when pirates count their booty that they become mere thieves. ARRRRRR....

Skeeter not to mention all of the forage in that structure and grass that was growing. now it is flooded and those bass will follow all those babies and the bait fish as they move up to stuff thier little faces. As for finding new spots. Just go back to the spots that you waypointed three years ago and all those spots should be underwater. Remember all those spots produced for a reason and there is no reason why they will not produce now.

Just checked the latest updated lake levels, and as of this morning, Choke Canyon is now at 215.94, with the normal pool being 220.5 with most of that new water being caught by rains mostly right over the lake.

I was there all weekend and the area over (Calliham) the lake got puunded with a minimum of 15" of rain.

Many of the locals I know say it was more like 20 to 24". I talked to several people who have rain gages that go up to 12" and those over flowed on Friday night. Then again on Saturday Morning they got hammered again.

Anway, when I was there weesach and Hog Islan were almose under water on Sunday evening and she was still rising.

This lake will be on fire in the next couple of years. Hopefully Mathis is full and they will hold the water.

Get your fish on.
