Go back underneath the bridge and towards the dam and start looking for birds. Sassy shads, spoons, and stick baits should work. If you find fish sounding turn your big motor off within 100 yds and use your trolling motor from there or they'll go back down. This can't be stressed enough. Last weekend everytime they came up all the boats in the area converged most with big motors and then they wondered why they didn't stay up.

Joe be careful if you are going in your boat.
Really know what the wind is going to do, Tawakoni can kick up a whopper of a storm with out notice. I guess that is any lake in TX but I have been surprised more than once on Tawakoni.
Just some heads up for ya, From the bridge south to the humps out in front of Holliday is about twice the distance to Hubbard dam from Robertson park. there are stumps in the middle of the lake and shallow points (sand bars) on the west shore line.
If you don't have a map, I have one you can have and if you want to we can get together and show you what I have learned about Tawakoni.
Call me, im just five minutes away.

I think the ramp at Holiday Marina is closer to the woods. Also one even closer but cant think of the name or directions.

I run my 15 horse 14 ft alumacraft at Tawakoni. This time of year I find the fish are not at the pump stations so I put in at Holiday marina or at the dam. this is alot closer to the trees and there are several humps on the way. not sure how big your motor is but thought this might help. To there are a couple other posts regarding where to go and how to fish. Watch out for the trees
I will be out there monday. would like to heare what happens this weekend if you don't mind.

Joe,
I definitely recommend Holiday Marina. Its only 2-3 bucks (2 on weekday, and I think 3 on weekend). You start right there close to the dam. The Wolf Creek humps are a short distance away, and the woods area, and other points are not too far off either. I have a bass-tracker type aluminum with a 9.9hp. and by myself, it does pretty good on that lake. Now it I take someone heavy with me forget it.

John 5:24 Very truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

1Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.
