Like gottabefishin said, tie a Flies-by-night jig about 12-18" above your slab. I use a dropper loop knot. I like to use at a 25-30 pound leader so the line won't break if you hook double hybrids.

If you are creek or river fishing, the chartreuse twin tail grub on a 1/4 oz jighead has been working best for me lately. Just chunk and wind as slow as you can get away with. Most creeks will be full of hangups, so don't stop or let it sink.

I'm with Lakeguide. I use a white grub on a 1/4 oz chartreuse jighead. I have most success with this than anything else. 2nd choice for me is actually live minnows.

Flies-By-Night, 1/4 Twin Tails & minnows.
Anything else I should put in my tackle box?

If you're in a boat, especially if you're slabbing, go withg the TNT 180 with a flies by night fly tied about 18" above it. Two at a time is a BLAST!!!!!! If you're fishing from shore... try a light humdinger. Best tail spinner on the market.

Guys please keep casting all those lures into rocky, sticky, brushy cover. A few up in the trees and over power lines are good too???

White Rooster Tails worked for me this weekend. Limited out. White seems to be the color of choice. People I fished with were using white jigs and they were also catching.

I caught a couple on lake benbrook by using a white and red 1/8oz. head, with straight tailed grub in salt and pepper color.

Marabou crappie jigs, 1/16 - 1/8 ounce. White/white, red head/white tail, black body/chart head and tail. Vary them up, they are cheap and you don't care WHEN you lose them to brush and rocks. I say "when" because you are guaranteed to lose most lures in creeks. If the creek is more open, tie on two jigs about a foot+ apart and you can land 2 at a time. Course if there is tree and underwater brush, you will lose 2 jigs at a time.
