Summer fishing for hybrids is a mystery to me. I would like to take my son out to fish for these schooling fish. What areas are summer areas.

If anyone is catching a lot of summertime hybrids on Palestine, they are keeping it a secret. I have lived on the lake for 5 years and it is a mystery to me also. I lose contact with the fish in Mid-june. If you find-um , let me know.
Good luck MO

What about the whites? I will be going to Lake Palestine in the middle of June. I need some sure fire places to catch whites for the kids. I have a boat and am able to travel the lake.
thanks, waterdog

This one I can answer. Mid- june the sandies will be chasing baby shad on the surface. If they lock in on the small baits, they will not hit a big lure. You need to throw a wieghted cork with a crappie jig or fly behind it. The mouth of ledbetter creek near the island has always been a good spot. A larger sinking bait thrown into the mix will sometimes get you a hybrid. Good luck MO
