Fished RC this morning with Eric Emeritz and Wayne Kilgo. A strong Southeast wind made fishing difficult but we did manage to put 39 big sandbass in the ice chest. We were very select this morning in only keeping fish that were over 12 inches. In guessing, I would say that we released several limits of legal fish between 10 and 12 inches plus a lot of smaller fish.

With Eric on the troll motor and it on high, it was non stop action for over 2 hours. THANKS Eric for a great job. If Bradbury had been with us, he would have been more than happy to take over, just to keep his end of the boat in the larger fish.

All fish caught under birds (more birds than I have see since late spring) on the Chartreuse Rainbow Minnow in 18 to 25 feet of water. Tried the clear baby torpedo but just to much chop on the water. The larger fish continue to come on or near the bottom by casting the lure out and working it back to the boat.

For the past several weeks, the Chartreuse Rainbow Shad Slab and the Minnow have been the lure that the sandbass likes the best. If you don't have one on your boat, be sure and pick one up at Oak Cove Marina before you start fishing. If you are going to fish Hickey Island area or the dog leg, you better have more than just one as you stand a good chance of loosing a few.

Will be on the lake in the morning, hoping to find the same type of action but a lot less wind.

Carl Ellis told me that you were not feeling well. Hope all is ok. Maybe to many bug bites this past weekend. It is too bad that you go hunting and become the one that is hunted.

If you get tired of being hunted, I am ready to fish so give me a call.
