Can anyone inform me on the striper fishing on Amistad. I'm a bass fisherman and I have a buddy that would like to striper fish while I'm there fishing. Something like best time of year, baits and areas.
Thank you Randall

I've always heard the area around the dam and markers 5-7 on the main lake were good places. I've caught them trolling for white bass in castle canyon and up the Devil's River. I do know there have been some big striper caught out of Amistad. I think the record is like 45 lbs

My buddy and I had a once in a lifetime experience. It was unexplainable. We always go to amistad to bass fish but one evening we were heading back to diablo and out from the dam was the most glorious school of massive stripers. We got into them for over an hour and they were all BIG fish. I live on Texoma and Ive seen some schools of stripers in my day but nothing of that size and number. I have since asked the same question you are asking with no answers. Somebody has to know something about the striper fishing out there!!!
