Does anyone know a good consultant that can assess the health of a 8-10 acre lake near New Ulm, Texas? I believe a combination of an infestation of otters and the drought/heat of last summer has devastated the bass/crappie population that once thrived in this lake. I need to get some costs on surveying and restocking this beautiful private lake.

I beleive you are in South Central Texas. I would recommend Mike Gilmore. He does a lot of work in the College Station, Brenham area.

If I remember right, beavers do not eat fish. They eat the cambium layer on trees/vegetation. Overtons would be a good place to call. Parks and Wildlife have a list of fisheries on their web site (hard to find). The fisheries in your area will be able to direct you to a pond management firm to call. Also check with your local county extension service. They are very helpful also

+1 on Overtons. They are also outstanding.
