Yellow vs. Orange

Definitely a new trend to the flashy side of bass fishing, but how do they rate and how do they stack up against each other. I did notice the plentiful line guides on the Skeet rod, equates to me as sensitivity.

Anyone here fished both, or either one, and are they really any better than a Falcon, Shimano, St. Croix, All Star, etc.?

I've been a Falcon fan for a while now. If it's worth the dough to go new and fandangled, I'd be in.

Thoughts? Opinions?

I have 2 skeets flipping and toad and 2 falcons a bucco and a low rider.

The skeets are a good rods, sensitive but they are heavier than the falcons.

I you look at the posts on carrot sticks I did no buy one since there was a lot of bad reviews.

The carrot sticks were breaking a rod I really like is the quantum

Tour signature edition. I bought an 8 foot Gary Kline and it is light and sensitive.

I got mine last year model for halve price at a boat show.

i have several of the skeet rods and they are decent. little tip heavy but super sensitive. i have the 8' flippin rod and although i havent used it yet it feels like it could do some serious damage in the thick stuff. good rod for the money

Carrot Stix are definately the most sensitive and much better than the Skeet Reese rods. The Carrot Stix do break more than others, but they have a lifetime warranty so it's like paying $150 to have a rod for the rest of your life. St. Croix are awesome rods and they are the best overall in my opinion.

We were at Falcon this weekend my buddy sets a hook like nobody you have ever seen (VERY HARD). He broke the carrot on a 4.5lbs Bass and lost the fish. Much to risky for me .What if the fish had been 8 or bigger? I fished with the Skeet Reese 8 ft and no problems.

Maybe I just had a bad rod, but the Skeet Reese rod I purchased has one guide coming out in the middle and the tip broke before I made a single cast. I prefer Falcon rods but do not have a Falcon on with every reel due to cost. The Shimano rods have worked well as filler rods for me. my .02

I have never owned a carrot stick but have seen 3 break when, In my opinion , they should not have. I have no sponsors, I am just a club, federation, and tourney fisherman, I have not had any quality issuses with Falcon or Shimano.

Apples and oranges on this question. Or should I say lemons and carrots. E21 rod is a higher quality rod. The SR rod is a nice rod for the price.

I love how light my CarrotStix is, but I sure wouldn't trust their rods for a jig or txrig rod. Doesn't feel durable enough. I have the parabolic action and use it exclusively for cranks and spinnerbaits.
