We are heading south to RC this weekend for a bunch of sand bass and hopefully some good sized hybrids. Any info on where ? We have a few ideas but want to check with some of you RC fishermen for some advice before we go. Thanks for the help ! Oh by the way my friend isnt all there if you know what I mean and doesnt really do good with the fish or the ladies, so I figured maybe he could catch a few at RC. Thank again ! Hi Mike !

4fish,

Sounds like your friend really could use some help with the fish, as far as the ladies ??????. I would offer the poor sole some advice, but I have not been in quite awhile. Hope someone can help you out. Watch for the birds working, but like they always say, keep your mouth closed!

I'm going this weekend ...
I'll target shallow water points and perhaps around the flats. All this rain should trigger fall feeding patterns as the others have been waiting for. Be ready for the topwater frenzy!!!

I guess nobody fishes RC anymore. Well I guess I will see the lurkers or tight lips or whatever you guys are these days on the water in the morning. I'll be launching out with my buddy Jimmye4fish at 6:30am in my 19' Red/ gray Winner from Oak Cove Marina to find um schooling. I will post a report when I get back.

Water was rough and navigating was a job in itself. Never found the schoolies but did meet Sasquatch. Nice to meet you

Tried SW side of Hickey Island, blanked. Tried Pelican island, blanked. Tried flats, picked up one with Hell/ Pet. Be careful around the 309 flats. Saw a deep V hull fly through and get beached. He was going about 30 thru there and slammed into the bottom. He was unable to get free. Everyone on board was un-injured, thank god. Tried to troll over to him and ripped the transducer off my TM and almost ended up stuck myself. Lost it in the water. Another boat went over and picked them up. Piced up a few more on old 287 roadbed and called it a day at 11:00am.

Saw lots of trailers, but not many boats. I assume we were in the wrong places or all LM fisherman up the creeks. Anyone out today do any good?

Yep I lost a hellbender and brand new lure, busted my knee and got hit in the ribs by a trolling motor when my buddy bumped a stup. Atleast I didnt get stuck in the finger by a catfish. I did get a good double cheese burger at the lil store where we unloaded and spent a few hours with my bud ! Lifes still good........

I know where that hump is and it is dangerous. But there is really good fishing just off the southwest corner of it. If you drag a hell/pet from there toward the lighthouse for half a mile the sandies and hybrids will show you a real good time. At least that was the pattern before the weather started changing. Have not been in about 3 weeks though.

Hey guys,
Nice talking to both of you. Seems like the fish were scattered. We picked up a couple keepers trolling the humps from 287 bridge to Pelican isle, then a few more at the old
road bed. Saw no surface action- hit Ferguson, Pelican points with no luck.
