I know that all the rest of you catch your limits all the time, but when I get 15 good fish without any dinks, it is wonderful!
Today's fun

Don CONGRATS on the nice stringer sir!!! Heck NOT ALL OF US do that well Don. I'm in the "Never Limited out" Category on catfish on either of the lakes myself lol. I can pick a few Reds up but not them pesky whisker fish bro. I don't even want to think of having to clean 25 fish at once lol. Good Job man & I envy you guys that are already hittin the lake during the week. I need to get off my arse and hit the water from Y'alls reports.................. Rob
One of these days I'm going to Land the BIG ONE!!

Thanks, Rob. The lake is full and beautiful right now. I saw quite a few pelicans yesterday. Fish were not congregated. Very shallow (1-5) feet of water eating cormorant droppings. I actually caught most of them free lining head-on, peeled shrimp with the floating yellow 20 lb Tuf Line XP. Goliad/SEMilitary HEB has the 41-50 count shrimp for $2.99/lb.
Sneaking up quietly upwind and drifting toward the tree, lowering the back anchor very quietly, letting out scope and drifting a little closer keeps the fish from spooking. 30 minutes is all the roost is worth after the birds leave. Combines hunting and fishing.....
