Where I am at in Corith,TX I have been unable to find a gas station that has gas with out the 10 percent ethanol. By installing a water/fuel seperator will that help protect from the ethanol. I try to use Stabil also to help protect the engine. Also does anyone know of a gas station near Lake Lewisville that has ethanol free gas. Thanks for any help.

a lot of "metro" areas have gone completely to that 10% ethanol due to the cleaner emissions....water fuel seperator will definitely help...make sure your fuel lines are alcohol resistant other wise they can rot from the inside...always use the marine formula stabil to keep the fuel fresh and to help fight the ethanol

I have tested fuels from stations that claim ethanol free and found them to have 5 to 6 percent. Don't believe everything you read.

sea foam will work as a stabilizer...just follow the dosage instructions carefully....I use sea foam to clean the carbon out of my motor than I use marine stabil on every fill up you can usually pick the "big" bottle of marine stabil at academy pretty cheap....it treats like 300 gallons of gas for like 20-30 bucks

I have recently started using Marine Stabil for the ethanol treatment. It says ethanol treatment right on the bottle but says nothing about fuel stabilizer. Do I need to continue to use both?

marine stabil is a fuel stabilizer also...if you read the dosage instructions it tells you about how to use it for long term storage....(stabilizer)

Stabil is a stabilizer and helps prevent separation of the gas and water, as well as deterioating fuel lines etc. It works best with a water separator/filter. Seafoam is a cleaner and should be used along with the Stabil, however it is not necessary to use it all the time. Most people I know do well by using it in every other fillup. Do not count on Seafoam alone to do the job with ethanol.

NOT! Beg to differ! Marine Stabil WILL NOT prevent ethanol from deteriorating fuel lines!!!!!! I just experienced that problem, and my dealer told me that while Seafoam & Marine Stabil will address the water absorption/phase separation issues, it WILL NOT prevent the ethanol from deteriorating the fuel lines!

In addition, I have documentation sent to me by Seafoam when I asked them the question that states that their product WILL stabilize gasoline and preclude water-related problems, even ethanol gasoline.

Just setting the record straight!

Best bet, regardless if you Stabil or Seafoam, is change your fuel lines inside motor housing to alcohol resistant lines and well as the fuel line from the tank to the motor. I've seen pictures posted on the web of carburetors messed up with residue from alcohol affected fuel lines. Dang! its a mess! I would probably think the fuel pump might get damaged as well.

Just converted my motor over to alcohol resistant lines. Did it my self and save myself some worries and $$$$$$.
