I have a couple of humps located with 15' to 17' tops surrounded by 22'- 25' of water. Where is the best placement for the condos. On the top or at the base?
Also, there is a long flat point which is 8' on top and drops off sharply from 20' all the way to 31' as it extends out. Condo on top could be a nav hazard. Where is going to be the best depth.
Thanks for the help.
Nice pic of them BD crappie

In anticipation of Ernest's answers and from what I've seen him do when fishing with him, he prefers to set the structure just a little way down on the break and not on top. We have caught fish that will move a little ways off the structure and sit right on top, bare bottom and all. Setting the structure off onto the side of the drop gives them a good place to go to that has added depth whenever weather forces them off the top of the break. It also helps keep the structure from being a navigation hazard.

WILLIE,

REDFIN HAS NAILED IT (AS USUAL). I PREFER PROTECTED POINTS IF POSSIBLE, STEEP DROPS OR DEEP FLATS. HUMPS ARE GOOD, ON TOP AT THE EDGE IF WATER IS AT LEAST 12'DEEP. BE SURE THAT YOU CAN FIND IT. I HAVE LOST A COUPLE AND I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR MANY YEARS.

COME TO THE SEMINAR ON OCT 7, I WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU.
