Hello to all and Happy New Year.

Does anyone know of good/great bank fishing at Choke Canyon. I plan on going either Fri. Or Sat. also would like to avoid the Alligators as well.

thank you,

The calliham unit of the state park has a nice jetty thing that I fish a lot for crappie and bass and others for drum and catfish. Fished that area for 3 years and only seen on gator in the swimming area but was a non-factor. If the crappie are there they are nice sized 13" average. The bass some over 5lbs

What would you recommend to use for the bass? And what part of the day would be the best?

Thank you,

TX rigged 7" Berkley power worm in red shad or watermelon red. Part of the day is the best....It depends on the time of the year you are fishing there.

I tend to use 1) senko wacky 5" chartruse/pepper followed by 4" any color 2) texas rigged lizards darker colors 3) jig w/craw trailer. When they spawn I found the bite good in the mid afternoon time.
