Got a buddy wanting to take his boss on a crappie trip to Fork... I'm not much help in this area, but thought I'd ask some that know. Who should he book a trip with at Fork?

The top five were the biggest. Used 2 rigs to catch these. Double rigged 1/8 oz crappie buster jigs casted uphill and worked back to the boat. The other rig was a carolina rigged 1/8 oz crappie buster jig. Might sound odd but it surely works. A 1/4 oz weight is used for the carolina rig to get the jig down to the bottom quick, using about a 12 to 18 inch leader tied to the jig, reel up to desired depth off the bottom, hold, and get bit. When the wind is blowing and you cant cast jigs out, the carolina rig also helps to keep the jig(s) straight down while trying to stay on the fish. Caught these for a fish fry and decided to try the bass out - caught them too - nutin' big. Anyway the pictures below are a group shot, pic of the bigger crappie next to a measuring stick, and followed up by the Crappie Buster jigs we caught them on.

Hope this helps on the next trip to Lake Fork, and if I can assist let me know. It isn't always one can catch 25 crappie in 1.5 hours, but it sure's fun when it does.

Happy Holidays!

If you have your own boat or your boss has a boat I would recommend going with Roy Greer. He is a great instructional guide that will take you out in your own boat for $150.00 for a full day. If you dont have a boat he can still take you out on a pontoon boat but it will cost $300.00 for up to 4 people. He really knows how to put you on the fish. He also makes some of the best crappie jigs I have ever seen. You can find him by googling "Roy Greer lake fork". You will not be disappointed. Not only will you catch some good crappie but he can teach you a lot as well.
