Is the crappie spawn on Lewisville over? If not where should I try in the next several afternoon. I have a boat and a couple of kids with me.

I hope not! I got about 50 undersized ones in the back end of a creek Sunday afternoon in water no more than 2 feet deep. No big boys yet though. Good luck.

JUST GOT HOME FROM LAKE LEWISVILLE. DECIDED TO CLEAN THE EIGHT KEEPERS I CAUGHT. ONLY ONE OF THE EIGHT KEEPERS I CAUGHT HAD EGGS, WHICH MEANS THE FEMALES ARE NOT IN THE CREEKS YET. THE ACTION IS PRETTY STEADY. I CAUGHT ABOUT 28 SMALL ONES. FIND A FEEDER CREEK OR A COVE AND FISH AS CLOSE TO THE BANK AS YOU CAN. FISH ARE IN ONE TO TWO FOOT OF WATER AND ARE HOLDING TIGHT ON THE BRUSH. THE CRAPPIE ARE HITTING MINNOWS AND JIGS.

Could that also mean the female already discharged their eggs? --Just a guess. I think you mean that females with eggs will come later these batch of fish.

( The fish with no eggs ) I'm sorry about that. I meant to say the fish I had were all males. They had the beat up tails from fanning there nest, and white milky sacks inside of them. Only had one female crappie with eggs.

You wont catch very many females in the shallows until the full moon. Most of them are hanging out in water about 10 ft deep waiting to stage. I gaurentee that a very small number, if any, have already spawned this year.
