I took out Toby & Joe (TFF'ers) today for some fun crappie and hybrid striper fishing. We mostly fished brush piles today but we did fish the bridge a little bit too. We found the crappie to be spread out in many different depths. We could never really find a single depth that held the most fish. We fished brush from 16ft all the way to 26ft and found some fish on all the spots but not more at any single location. We ended our trip with 47 keepers and ofcourse we had a few throwbacks that I never count. We also came across some hybrid stripers in deep water under birds. I believe we managed 12-15 legal hybrids and some sandies, all of which we threw back. Water temp is a chilly 53 degrees now. Thats a drop of 10 degrees in two weeks. 47 nice crappie Nice flathead Toby caught on a crappie jig that we released Couple of hybrids caught at the same time. Two of about 12-15 nice hybrids caught and released. Here are some birds that showed us some hybrids. They were suspended in about 40ft of water. I have openings, call or email if you want on my schedule. Thanks!

I want to thank Chuck for a great day on the water. He really knows how to get on fish. The way the wind is blowing here in Wichita Falls right now, I think we slipped in at a perfect time. I really enjoyed fishing with Toby. I just met him today, but hope to fish with him again soon. Thanks again Chuck.

Nice catch guys! Chuck, love the pic of the hybrids and seeing the graph behind them. You can see how stacked they were in there not to mention the birds!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Thanks guys for coming out again. And yes I did put that picture of the graph in the back ground on purpose. It was showing so many fish that I wanted to show them off. If you can read the coords it will tell ya where we were at.

Another good post Chuck, alot of us would like to see what the crappie look like in high definition on a brushpile on a good fishfinder, and you seem to have one. hint hint.. haha
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
