Iam looking for places to take my kids fishing. I cant seem to find fishing barns or barges on lakes anymore. If someone can tell me where there are a few to go to it would be great. Thanks...

I know there are 2 of them on Lake Whitney, Juniper Cove, and Lake Side Village. I have heard others in this forum talk about one on Weatherford Lake. Guess it really depends on where your at. To get to Lake Side Village, take HW 174 south until you cross Kimball bend bridge, about 3 miles past is the Hw 56 exit to the left, follow that around until you see a sign pointing left "Lake side village " follow it down to the lake and you cant miss the marina. The fee there is $3.50 a person. Its been along time since i been to Juniper cove, so maybe someone else can enlighten us on how to get to Juniper Cove and The Weatherford Lake marina.
Good Luck

Lake Alan Henry has one, if you can afford the drive and entrance fees!

There is one on Lake Leon south of Eastland. The place is called LaMoncha ranch. Went by there last wk. end and they were catching small 10" crappie fast. I think the charge is $3.50. The closest one to you would probably be Lake Bardwell. The fish are biteing there too. I went about a week ago and lots of crappie were being caught. It is the first road to the left right after you cross the bridge coming from 287.Good luck
