Im looking for a new reel to put braid on to use for c-rig and frogs and jigs.... what would yall suggest is the best reel for the job?

Spinning or Casting?
There really is no difference in the casting reels using braid vs. mono/fluoro. Just use your normal reel. Put some mono backing on the spool so the braid won't spin around the spool arbor. This will also allow you to spool up 2 reels with the high price braid. You really only need 50 yds on your casting reel or half of the amount on the braid package spool you purchase.

casting.... i didnt know if some people had certain baitcasters they liked braid on...

woj, I always hated casting with braid but the strenth and sensitivity is hard to beat. I put mine on a Revo SX and started using KVD line conditioner. The line casts great!

I ahve mainly Shimano Citicas and love em, Braid works great and they wont break the bank. I have it on a Revo Premier and does super well too but more expensive

Anything with steel or some form of hard plating where the line runs through the reel.

Also soak the line in water for a couple hours to sften it up some.. That helps break up the crusty dye's so that its not near as abrasive.

I have been wrapping my braid one time around a round screwdriver shaft while spooling my reels..

It busts the dye up really well and helps break the braid in ALOT faster.

all my quantams have. whichever reel you put it on is the best reel for you.
