Every year, the largest shad runs on the border of Oregon and Washington. The most popular time fishing at Bonneville Dam at Columbia River is around June, which the daily number of shad go through Bonneville Dam is around 10,000- 20,000. Normally, Columbia river shade weighting around2-3 pounds. If cooked well, Shad tastes really good but due to the bony bodies, not many people like it. Please check our video to see how we cook it.
