I'm new to Crappie fishing. I want to take my four year out to Lavon this weekend for some Crappie action. Looking for some help on where to locate fish and the best way to get a few. I will put in at a ramp near 380.
Thanks for your help.

Shocker, You probably need to go a bit deeper for crappie this time of year, closer to the dam side. Sandies would be the way to go with a child, much easier and alot more action.

I'm sure Jerry will step in here on the crappie, and he is definately the man!!!
Go out with him on a guide trip as have alot of us "Lavon fisherman-women" have and you will find out where and how. Sharon

The brushpiles in 15-19' are good places. If you do not know where any are, then hit the timber north of Tickey creek Park. there is plenty in 18-25'. Minnows will be easier for kids.

Hey Jerry, How would find out where the brush piles are in Lavon? Does the Corp provide a map of these?

Thanks, Steven

You can get a map from the Corp, but it only shows brush locations they have issued permits for.

None of the brushpiles I fish are on any map. Check out some points in 15-20' of water and you'll find some.
