Anybody got any current info on Belton as far as conditions/patterns? Was going out there for the first time Sat to try to catch some smallmouth. Looks like the lake has come up a few feet due to the rain. Think it is worth trying?

The main lake still has plenty of good visibility for catching smallmouth. The rivers are chocolate right now. There's going to be a 100+ boat tourney out there Saturday so if you're just going fun fishing, I would wait until Sunday.

Thanks for the info. I am just fun fishing. I knew there was a tournament out there Sat but didn't know how big it was. Tied up Sunday so I guess it will be a game time decision. What ramp is that tourny out of so I can avoid it? I am thinking lauching out of Temple Park if that is a good ramp to start out of.

Let us know how you do. I'm going to fun fish out there for a few days next week. I haven't been out there in about 6 months. Any advice is appreciated.

I think we are going out of Cedar Ridge, so you should be fine at TLP ramp. Its a pay ramp though, you can launch at Arrowhead for free and its right before TLP on the left.

100 boats is nothing on this lake. A few weeks back there where 2 tournaments, with about 350 + boats.

I went yesterday from the bank. I was at Rogers park and it was ALMOST to the road. A couple more feet and it woulda been OVER the road!! eeks The water was kinda stained from the runoff, up by 36 bridge it looked like choco milk!
