May try some night time crappie expedition on Grapevine in the near future. Anybody have any tips please?
Will the brush piles that work in the day light hours produce at night?
Thanks in advance.

You can try the docks in Mcphearson slew. There are some lighted ones in there and I know of at least two that have been made into "Crappie Barns" as my buddy DMC calls 'em. I love fishin at night on Grapevine, you an run into some sandies, lmb, and crappie at night out there. Shoot me an email and I will help out if I can.

The best place to go is to Twin Coves. I have had good results there the last two times I've been there. Just fish each stump with roadrunners and crappie pellets and you'll have a blast.

Sidelt67, These "crappie barns" at McPherson Slough you speak of, do you know anything about them? Are they privately owned or open to public? Either way do you think bank fishing around them would be any good, if so what bait is prefered?? Thanks in advance

These docks are all private docks. Thay also have electrical wires and cables strewn all ove the place. You most likely couldn't cast out a line from the shore. I just called them that because they dont have boats in them, they have chairs.

A friend of mine owns one of those "crappie barns", and Sidelt67 is right.....they're private. Because of how they're situated, they would be real hard to fish from the bank anyway, and I really wouldn't advise going on the ramps to them, as that could lead to problems too. Sorry for the bad news.........

I have fished the brush a few times at nite and did allright, the shallow trees seem to do best,it is sure easy to read the flasher at nite but very hard to see land marks used to find trees and I allways worry about getting run over by some drunk who dosent see me,so I mostly stick to weekday fishing,I will be out there tomorrow if any of yall are out there look me up.
