 going to SPI this weekend

 Hello everyone i am going to south padre island this weekend and looking for a place to fish and to catch specks and reds but the only reds i have ever caught was in freshwater here in san antonio so i m looking for some good spots to fish on the coast and advice would be greatly appreciated I am rather new to fishing so any advice will go a long way thanx.
If you don't stand behind the U.S. soldier then I dare you to stand in front of them!!!!!!

Headed down there myself. Will be there Sunday thru the week til next Monday. Will be looking for specks and reds. Good fishing down there if you haven't been before. Was down in May , but due to bad weather did not fish as much as I wanted.
The jetty at the south tip in the park is always a good bet to catch something. I prefer to fish the surf side. A lot of people fish the channel side. There are lots of mangrove snapper along the rocks. Also, unfortunatley a lot of trash fish. Surf fishing is also productive.

oh ok i will be there just sat i will be staying in mcallen visiting family so i thought i might go to SPI i have never been
