Use the dip tubes from team catfish. (i cut mine in half) and I use a long handeled flathead screwdriver to stir the bait before you use it. use the same screwdriver to dip you tube. Fish shallow

PB Blue Cat = 36 lbs - Texoma
PB Black Bass = 9.9 lbs - Ray Hubbard
PB Striper = 19 Lbs - Beaver Lake AR

I'm thankful for all the things i have, and all the things i don't. I have dreams that will come true and i have some that won't.

I use furry thang in the lake and dip tube in the river. Tube holds it a little better for little slower release in the current.

Use the whole red tube and a #4 treble this will slow down the dink bite. If your on the dinks move. I take 9 baits when I go and try most of them each trip you never know.

Anyone else feel like the bait tubes cause them to miss some hook ups?

I noticed the tube covers too much of the hook, I switched to a #6 treble and my luck improced, furry thangs hold alot more bait but if you are fishing from the bank and try to cast far you can lose half of it in the cast.

I bought a roll of clear polyethylene tubing at Home Depot, cut it into 1" to 1.5" lengths, punched a couple of 1/4" holes in the tube, and boom... a fancy tube to hold nuclear-waste-like-nastiness from a dip bait bucket. It takes a little longer to "load" the tube, but the bait stays with you in the tube longer than just dipping a treble hook. I've been trying the circle hook approach, and I'm starting to drink the kool aid. I'm not losing one hook per fish with these like I do with the treble hooks. Of course, hooks are cheap if you're putting fish in the box, but it still is a bit of an inconvenience to re-tie every time you hook up. Secret 7 is a favorite of many here on the TFF, and I've been "taken to school" by FishHauler and his Secret 7 on a couple of occasions while I was using Danny King's on the other end of the boat. This year I've been using SureShot, and I think I like it better than anything.

Raw hickory cured bacon - no dip tubes required and it stays on the hook.
