The other day while shooting docks with Ernest and WM in the Ranger Rain Maker boat I happened to notice that Ernest will vary ever so slightly off the basic Wally Wiggle depending on conditions. Seemed that the variation usually occurred on the docks where it was harder to get way back in the shade! Got to watch him, he's got more tricks than a Vegas magician!!!

The one thing that keeps me aware of the line movement is hearing Ernest say (in my mind's ear), "You got one on." and I automatically watch and "feel" the line closely and generally there's one on about the time the jig hits bottom and you make the first lift. Sometimes as you watch the line as the jig sinks, you'll see it pause like it's on the bottom but you know it's not and my mind hears Ernest say "You got one on." and I set the hook. That's why he pushes that yeller line so when it does a fly leg twitch, you are able to see it.

SANDWICH MAKER, DID THE "WIGGLE" ABOUT 50 TIMES THIS MORNING. "WOW", THEY ARE TURNED ON.

JIM,
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO COME DOWN AND FISH WITH ME AGAIN. LOTS OF SEE-UM STRIKES TODAY. OLD YELLER CAME THRU FOR ME. I HEARD THAT YOU WERE STUCK WITH VARNER YESTERDAY.

GOOD FISHING.

heheheheheh...I think Varner was purposely angling the boat in wrong to keep me from hitting all the good spots but I still out caught him on crappie, even with my poor slingshot style from HIGH above the water. I even had to give him the right color jig so he could catch some...

Give me a call anytime. I'm in the process of buying a 5.0 cf chest freezer this weekend so I can stock up on fry critters. Will certainly appreciate any opportunity to get out there and start the freezer filling process.

The hybrids are about 3-weeks behind from last year but the crappie are doin' their dock thang, for sure.

I wouldn't be investing bucks in a chest type freezer if I wasn't "stuck" with Varner. Caught wayyyyy too many fish with him...those CC hybrids fear us. We're invisble to them now...since I got rid of The Redfin hybrid wiper

This will be a banner year for The Trophy hybrid wiper...beware all CC humps and crappie docks
