i've heard good things, but i'm interested in how well they hold up to serious fishing, too.. like 3 days a week for 4 or 5 months.

I only have the Mettle for now and fish it at least 3 days a week for 2 to 4 hours each time. It is solid. I have a few high end Diawa's and the Mettle is just as smooth. My understanding is that the only difference in the Menace and the Mettle is gear ratio. I plan on adding two new Menaces in the next few weeks.

Menace=7.1

Mettle=5.1

I have the Menace but I've only had it a couple of weeks. Very smooth but no long term use yet.
