I purchased my very first specific worm rod for $120.00 from BPS in Garland. Three months later I was fishing with my 4 year old daughter in my pond and I casted it out 7 or 8 times and then went to cast it out and the rod folded in half about 6 inches from the first guide. I procrastinated around for about 2 or 3 months and then finally sent it back to St. Croix. Two weeks later I received a letter in the mail informing me that they have inspected the rod and found that there was no defects in the rod and that they would not replace it and that they would sale me another one for $70.00. I called them back spoke with a rep and was told that a service rep would call me back and within 15 mins I received a phone call. The rep told me that he inspected the rod and that it looked like the rod had been rubbed on pavement. I explained to him that the only place this rod had been was in my rod box and in the back of my truck. He proceeded to question me abnout my boat and the rod box. I explained to him that I have a 2003 Ranger 520VX and that the rod tubes in the rod box was the only thing that has ever rubbed the guides. I explained to him this is the most exspensive rod I have ever purchased and I have always bought Walmart rods for around $40.00. He told me that I could not use his rods like the cheaper rods because they would not hold up. So now he has offered me a discount of $20.00 more dollars to purchase a new rod that evedently will not work as well as a cheap $40.00 rod from Walmart. I will purchase this rod but only because I have so much money invested, but I will NEVER buy any thing else from this company. Just wanted everyone to know what a sorry quality rods and warranty St. Croix has.

I have always heard the St Croix has excellent customer service. I don't own one but was looking at their Mojo series for a frog rod.

I have had to talk pretty seriously to the Falcon folks when one of their rods snapped on me. Falcon did come thru but still cost me shipping.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I Have not had to use my warranty, but I love my St. Croix Mojo Bass Rod. It is very sensitive, light and has plenty of rod strength. Anyone else had warranty problems or other problems???

I loved the sensitivty while it lasted. The rod was great until it broke. I just cant believe they tried to tell me it was my fault. He even told me to go and buy the black tube insulation and place it on the rod and to store it in my open rod box. I'm sorry I just had a bad experience with this company this time, maybe it was a one time thing.

Wow. I've never had to use the warranty yet ( knock on wood ), but the St Croix rods I've got I absolutely love them. I got a Legend Tournament series and a Mojo bass, both are amazing. The only drawback I've had is the Mojo Bass one I have is just too "big" for me I think. The reel sits up too high for my preference. The legend tournament series, now that rod is unbelievable... I feel like I'm running my fingers across the bottom when I drag something through the muck.

Glad I spent the money for loomis I have broke 3 of them and had them replaced no questions asked. I hate when a company advertises a warr. them will not stand up to it when something happens.
