Bought a recreational boat the other day, a 1990 Chris Craft 225 Limited. Feel like I got a very good deal on it, but haven't been able to go through it completely yet. Boat is VERY clean for a 1990... All the major stuff is in good shape, and the boat is at an upholstery shop getting a new interior including all the padding. I love the fact that the boat doesn't have carpet. I WILL fish this boat occasionally when the wind is kicking at Conroe and it's unsafe to go out in the CC. No doubt y'all will see me tied up under the 1097 bridge sooner or later with this boat. Have to get rid of the "front porch" 6x9 box speakers... not sure what the last guy was thinking on that one.

I have been wanting a larger recreational boat for sometime and this definitely fits the bill. Much, much bigger and heavier than my little 16' CC. Gonna be a learning curve for me here, hopefully the boat is still floating upright after my learning curve... smile

Now I gotta go buy a vehicle to pull it with. 2003 Pathfinder does great with my little CC... no way am I hooking this thing up to it.

Ohh yeah, I promise I will take what I have learned about etiquette here on TFF and never do the dumba** things that other rec. boaters do.

Good lookin boat!

That cabin reminds me of a few verses from " redneck yacht club "

when the party's over and we're all alone
well be making waves in a no wake zone

Glad they're replacing the upholstery (including the foam) for you. Judging from the look of that "make-out lair," it probably needed to be replaced pretty badly, if you know what I mean.

These are from the ad and are the best I have until this weekend when I can get back down to LaPorte where the upholstery place is and take some pics and start taking care of some minor stuff on the boat. The boat was at the upholstery shop when I bought it, and since it needed work, I just let them do it. Once I drag it closer to where I live and can get a replacement cockpit cover and put it under covered storage, I am going to put a several hundred dollar buff job on every square inch of gelcoat. The boat is white and blue; I am going to clean up a small spot on the hull this weekend to see what the potential is before I hire someone to do it. Should come out smooth as a baby's butt and nice dark blue!

The guy that owned it prior said he was ex-military and liked his stuff clean... you could dang near eat off the floor of the engine compartment. The guy was definitely about clean.

Trailer has 4 new tires and spare, new forward bunks and no rust that I could find. He disclosed that the trailer was setup for brakes, but currently did not have any. He suggested long, slow gentle stops with the tow vehicle. smile I agreed.

This is the same model, it gives an idea of what it looks like in the water:

These are some pics of the boat I bought:

Ohhhh Noooo!!! smile I am just going to keep telling myself it was only used for family outings only, and that there was "no love, in the champagne room". Better yet, I could flip the cushions... but what if someone thought of that already...

Dangit B-Rod... now that thought is in my head. rolfmao
