Have you ever had one of those day's at the lake when nothing went right? I mean I took about a 6 hour beating today at purtis creek lake. Between me and my son we managed to loose almost all of our good lures, especially spinner baits and jigs (and I didn't have a whole lot to begin with). The lake was a little low and I guess this just accentuated the hang-ups. One after the other, I spent more time tyeing on new lures and trying to retrieve hang-ups and hikeing (no boat yet), that it was more frustrateing than anything else to be honest. Also, my curado bait caster stayed backlashed a good majority of the time, made me start questioning what the big deal about bait casters was, when the zebco 33 will cast a mile and never gives much problems LOL. We planned to stay after dark and fish from the pier, and we did.. until it came a flood on us, with lightening. We got one dink too, for all this trouble. I just said to my son that even after the way our day went I still love to fish...he quickly said "yea, me too!". Thanks for letting me vent a little.

happened to me today as well, i couldn't buy a bite to save my life today.

Sounds almost what I had on Fork Friday afternoon - every other cast (into the wind) was a backlash, what didn't backlash got hung up, and I couldn't buy a bite out deep. Oh well, it beat working

Yes sir!! I had one of those days on Belton (from the bank) yesterday as well! I lost 2 jigs in a matter of 15 seconds! I couldnt catch a fish if my life depended on it! Maybe that will change once I get a boat next yr as well. Good luck and keep fishing!!

I had one this weekend as well. Hit choke friday had a blast, went saturday evening didn't lose lures but could not buy a fish only 2 bites on topwater but the fish were there.

Some bad day are bound to happen. But heck, all the good times sure make up for em. sounds like a bad day....but at least you got to spend time fishing with your son .

Yeah, I had a bad day Saturday on Ray Hubbard. Got a late start and me and my partner worked hard for the couple of dinks we manged to catch. We decided to leave and I put my rod down and secured it on deck, stood up and all of sudden I was off balance and fell in the lake. That was okay, but I lost my prescription glasses, but I still had my Cocoons due to the lanyard on them. I will equip my new glasses with a new lanyard from now on, because I am sure that is not the last time I will fall in the lake.

Yup I had one of them days yesterday on Calaveras. I spent about the whole day trolling and must have tied on 45 different baits and only managed ONE red lol. I burned about 22 gallons of fuel runnin around in circles. But man it sure beat sittin at the office or at home thinkin and worrying about all the same ole CARP we do every other day. Enjoy the time with the lil ones. Once they grow up you can't remake them memories.

I lost every jig in my jig box in one day last time I was at Choke
