Can anyone tell me anything about fishing in that area.. I think it's the Arkansas River. I've got to go there for the Super Series National Championships next week and the kids would like to fish some as the river runs right by the ballfields. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Wish Us Luck!

Fishing is wonderful below the dam for Rainbows, browns and cut-throat trout. Take your light tackle and you'll catch plenty.
enjoy and good luck!

Yep thats the Arkansas you will not catch any trout or any other cool water fish that water will be shalow and hot. I havent fished that part of the river ever you can't navigate with an out board and you would be lucky to catch any thing.

Wylie,
The trout fishing is actually at Broken Bow, not Broken Arrow. Broken Bow is in the south eastern part of the state, about 5 hours from where you will be. I'm from Tulsa and not many people fish that part of the river. It gets a little poluted as it runs through Tulsa.
There's a reservoir at 21st and Mingo in East Tulsa, Lynn Lane Reservoir. A pond at Hwy 51 adn Hwy 169 next to Garden Ridge. Lake Oolagah is very good fishing and about 30 min. North of B.A. on Hwy 169. Keystone is good and is about 30-45 min west on Hwy. 51. Fort Gibson is about 1 hr S.E. down the turnpike (51 becomes the turnpike going S.E.)
Any of those will serve you better than the river.
"Life is a matter of luck and the odds of success are in no way enhanced by extreme caution." - Erich Topp, German U-boat Commander, 1943.
When in doubt, set the hook.

Hey Mike, Brent has friends at Broken Bow, and has fished there himself, he speaks very highly of it. He has been trying to get me to go, and I have been thinking about it lately. Let us know how you do, and ck with him on some info. Sharon
