never was a big skeeter fan but my partner got one a couple of months ago. I've fished out of a lot of different boats and I think that his bug may be the best fishing platform I've ever been in.. Rides ok but I think his champ was smoother in really rough water.
We both were looking at Legends before he bought this Skeeter. After spending time in it, I scratched the Legend off my list unless a really sweet deal comes up.

My thoughts are I could care less what boat folks like or fish from as long as it works for them. I'm just not all that bothered by what the next guy runs. I try to worry about what happens in my boat and if I am happy with what I own.
My opinion is that when you get over 20' in length boatwise most are decent to great in rough water. The driver is the key as always. I guess I am a realist in that I spend 90% of my time with the trolling motor down and only 10% running with the big engine. I'm also not making 50-60 mile runs each way to fish. i would rather have a boat that is decent in the ride but is great in its fishability. I have not been beat too death in any bigger boat so I choose fishability first.
That being said there are a few brands being hyped for ride but pretty well suck in my opinion in the fishability factor.
like anything else its all personal preference and you have to choose what fits you best. I also find it funny when I read statements like "the best, hands down" or "the best, period". It just makes me think if thats the best thing a persona can say about a boat I'll steer clear. How about telling us why you feel one brand is best over another or give some actual experience with it.

I have a Champ 206, and it is extremely stable both running and fishing, as it is wider than its siblings, the 202 and 203. My partner is a big fella, and we pitch up front all spring and it does NOT tip at all. I also love the bass cats, as it was my choice until I got a deal on my champ in '05. I am still in love with it. They say the 210 is awesome and faster with the same wide front deck. If I could get anything, I would ride in a lot of boats like the Gambler and Bullet before being stubborn and set in my ways

I have a Sprint 221 DC with a 250 V Max and it rides great I think. However Sprint stopped making bass boats

Just my opinion. I own a 20' Procraft that I love and is a very good fishing platform but as far as ride in rough water it's mediocre at best and I think I am a fair driver. My dad has a 206 Champion and it's by far the best riding boat I have ever been in. Frankly I think Rangers are way overrated. Rode in a couple Skeeters and they ride nice but I felt not the most stable boat in medium rough water - could have been the drivers though.

On Rayburn, There is a huge difference between riding in a 18' anything compared to a 20'! My old 18' Champion was ok- My 20'9 Ranger 520VX - rides better than anything I have ever been in. Skeeters aren't even on the same page!

My "aircraft carrier" (Ranger 522DVX) is pretty good in rough water, but it is 22' though.

My 96 Ranger 487VS surely jarred my jaws loose through a 3 footers ( well it seems like at the time) at Belton Lake in the early part of April this year. I was wondering how the hell do you drive fast in this condition and in the middles of that thought while shitting in my pants - this beautiful yellow Gambler passes me like bat out of hell. Son of a -itch!!!

Good Fishing!!
