6-10-09 Lake Level: 1 ft high Water Temp: 83 Water Clarity: East arm clear, West arm clear to slightly stained. Boat Ramps: All in good shape. The crappie fishing on Ray Roberts has been good the last week with a lot of numbers being caught but still a lot of small fish but each day is getting better for bigger fish as they settle into their summer patterns. Look for the the next few weeks to pick up on good size keepers. COE piles have been producing some good numbers of fish with more and more bigger fish moving in, Other brush piles from 12 to 15 ft have been producing some good size fish up to 2.2 pounds, Timber from 15 to 25 ft has been producing some good crappie up to just under 2 lbs, Bridge fishing has been producing a lot of fish but it is day to day on what size fish are being caught, Night fishing should be doing pretty good under bridges and in timber from 20 to 30 ft. Plastic jigs in blk/char & wht/char has been doing good and Thumpit jigs in blk/orange/char as also been producing some good fish. Minnows have been producing good numbers and some good size crappie, at times the minnow bite has been better than the jigs. I look for the next few weeks to get better and better each day on the bigger fish so this would be a great time to book a trip. I do have some openings coming up in the next couple of weeks. Just email me or call for available dates. Thanks, Cliff 6-7-09, William with his personal best 2 lb 2 oz crappie he caught off a brush pile. 6-8-09, Doug with 23 keeper crappie the largest going 1 lb 14oz out of 150 plus crappie caught along with a couple of cats on his evening trip. 6-9-09, Wayne and his fatherinlaw had a good evening today catching 28 keepers but only keeping 18 of them. They caught 150 plus crappie all together. The largest was 1 1/2 pounds. A special thanks to all that went out me this last week it was a blast.

Great report Cliff becareful about mentioning minnows there has been a jig only program going on. Thats ok, I don't mind putting a little meat on a hook if it produces fish. And that it has.

Looking good Cliff! I have not had any luck to speak of here on T-Bend in my part of the lake. It's been very tough to say the least. I may have been fishing too deep lately since I had some visitors here and we didn't do much at all. They are over in another part this morning and got a few in 12' of water and I have not fished that shallow in a month. I thought they left that water a month ago, but I guess they will force me to look in less water again soon.
Even went last night for a little while and had tons of bait fish and not much else. Heck couldn't even get a darned old catfish. I am not thinking we were fishing too deep at 12'-14' down in 21' of water with 32' right next to that. It was an old brush pile that I just a couple weeks ago put in some new willow. I am puzzled at this point for sure.

Your right Skip. The crappie are shallower than normal for this time of year. The areas that I am catching more of the bigger fish is normally what I fish in mid to late May. The summer patterns are about to break wide open and thats when I will load up on them. I will be calling you soon I need to place another order. I have a trip this afternnon if the weather don't get bad. Later buddy.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
