put them in a ziploc freezer bag with olive oil and lots of garlic salt. that'll kill the rubber smell, and replace it with the spaghetti smell that fish like so much...thumb

Bruce was one of the best stix around. He could have been a top contender on the national circuit. I was the Jawtec Rep for five years before I started guiding fulltime at Fork.

He taught me to fish hydrilla with a heavy jig. I caught my first fish over 11 on one of his Big Bite rattling jigs with a Wacky Craw. She went 11.61 out of Lil Mustang near the bridge.

Ask Ken Smith if he remembers the fish. Funny story for sure... woot

I'll have to give that a try, thanks.

I really liked the big jawtech ringworm in red-bloodline. It was bigger than regular ringworms and killed the big fish at night. Caught my biggest fish ever on one at night at fork. she went 13.60 and i would certainly buy a few bags if they were still around. I think they were called jawtech terminator worms.

I know the 4th largest bass in texas (she went 17.63) was caught on a 12 in. black jawtec worm on Fork. We caught some huge fish on those lures, they had some great baits and I wish they would be resurrected again!

I found a pack of Jawtec baits I have and remeber a post talking about a local person that made these. I like hearing about people that make local bait products. When I say local I mean the DFW area.

Anyone have any input on these baits?

Bruce Benedict was the man's name. A while back, there was a thread about old baits that are no longer produced. Quite a few posts about him.

Bruce fishes Fork quite a bit still. He's a jig pitching/Crankbait strolling machine.
Here's the previous thread.
